Primary objective
Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) is the centre of expertise for the design of evidence based, data driven curriculum, pedagogy and assessment resources and support for children and students from birth to Year 12 and transitions to the workforce.
Context statement
TLS provides evidence-based differentiated services and support to schools to maximise outcomes for Territory children and young people. Our services encompass quality teaching and learning, transition to year 12, national and systemic assessment, certification of the Northern Territory Certificate of Education, transition to boarding school support and policy coordination. TLS also plays a strategic role in implementing government priorities, offering expert advice to the Minister for Education and Training and the department’s senior executives. We enhance our work by actively engaging with a broad range of stakeholders to ensure best outcomes for all our clients.
