Description

The successful applicant will teach both Drama and English across Stages 4–6, with demonstrated capacity to deliver engaging and rigorous HSC courses.

Depending on experience and suitability, there is the possibility of appointment as a 1pt Coordinator of Creative Arts, providing leadership and support within the Creative Arts faculty.

You will have:

  • Extensive pedagogical knowledge and understanding of how English and Drama are learned, including what affects students’ opportunities to learn and how teaching practice can enhance outcomes.
  • Experience teaching Stage 6 courses (HSC experience highly regarded).
  • Demonstrated ability to differentiate learning to cater for diverse student needs in order to maximise student achievement.
  • Sound understanding of effective learning environments, lesson planning, integration of technology, contemporary teaching practices, and delivery of assessment and feedback.
  • A commitment to continual improvement of teaching practice and ongoing professional development.
  • The ability to work creatively and constructively within a range of communities inside and beyond the school.
  • The capacity to motivate students to achieve and develop a life-long love of learning, particularly within the creative and performing arts.
  • (For applicants seeking the Coordinator role) Demonstrated leadership capacity, organisational skills, and the ability to support and guide colleagues within the Creative Arts faculty.

Essential Qualifications and Accreditations:

  • Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
  • Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree, or 75% complete).
  • Valid Working with Children Check (for employment purposes).

The Organisation

Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 80 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney.

This position involves working with children.
