Canteen Assistant

Selection Criteria

Role

This role is for two days per week, Monday and Friday. These days are not negotiable.

The Canteen Assistant will work with the Canteen Manager to deliver the profitable management and day-to-day operation of the school canteen according to DET policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the day-to-day operations of the canteen program, including food preparation, service, and hygiene compliance.

• Maintaining menus that reflect cultural inclusivity and healthy eating guidelines and support student wellbeing and dietary requirements.

• Ordering, receiving, and maintaining stock supplies within budgetary constraints.

• Ensuring all Food Safety, Allergen Management, and OHS requirements are met and documented.

• Liaising with the Canteen Manager regarding budgets, purchasing, and operational planning.

• Supporting school events that require catering or hospitality.

• Upholding the school's Child Safety and Wellbeing policies and practices.

• Other duties as directed by the Principal.
