Location Profile
Coburg Primary School is located in Bell Street, Coburg in the City of Moreland, 8km north of Melbourne. Established in 1853, the school is very proud of its history and its commitment to the education of the children in the Coburg Community.
Student enrolments are currently 340 and over the next five years, stronger and more predictable enrolment growth is expected. The diverse nature of our school community is valued highly and reflected in our programs. Many of our students have come from families where English is an additional language. There are still a high number of families who come from language backgrounds other than English even though Coburg is changing demographically.
The school is organised into junior (Foundation -1) and senior (2-6) areas. The junior campus is situated on the south side of Bell Street, and is a beautiful historic building, classified by the Historic Buildings Council. Our senior campus is situated on the north side of Bell Street and is a two storey red brick building. Additional facilities include Performing Arts area, Library, Art room and an outdoor learning area. Year levels hot spots include: Foundation and Year 2 ¿ Curiosity, Year 3/4- Seed to Table and Clucky Kids and Year 5/6- Voices and Choices.
Coburg Primary delivers a broad and well balanced curriculum in all the learning areas, with a major emphasis on literacy and numeracy.
