Role description

We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer to work alongside our Business Manager in undertaking a broad range of day-to-day financial tasks and activities with minimal direct supervision.

This is a permanent part-time position, working 13 hours per week across 45 weeks of the year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing fortnightly payroll
  • Managing debtors on a weekly basis, as required
  • Undertaking monthly debt collection processes
  • Processing creditors weekly
  • Completing weekly bank reconciliations
  • Preparing month-end reconciliations
  • Assisting with month-end BAS preparation
  • Preparing and lodging Business Activity Statements (BAS)

About You

  • Commitment to supporting and upholding the Catholic ethos of the school.

  • Experience and knowledge in finance and payroll processes, including maintaining compliance requirements.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook), finance and payroll systems, and databases.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and use sound judgement when solving problems.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide professional and responsive support to staff and families.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

  • Demonstrated initiative, responsibility, and commitment to providing a high-quality finance service.

  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
