Xavier Catholic College, Ballina

Xavier Catholic College is a ministry of the Catholic Parish of St Francis Xavier Ballina, a College in the Diocese of Lismore, and is a Companion School of Jesuit Education Australia (JEA).

The Aboriginal Education Worker will also act as a role model for students by encouraging them to take pride in all aspects of their schooling.

Aboriginal Education Worker (Identified Position)

Position Type: Part time, 30 hours per week (Monday to Friday) 

Term of Appointment: Term 3 2026 (20 July 2026) - End of Term 2 2027 (16 July 2027)

Classification & Benefits:
This role is classified as Level 4 (averaged) under the NSW and ACT Systemic Catholic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2025 as updated or reviewed.

Role will include:

  • Working with the school leadership team to implement the Diocesan Action Plan for the Education of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples including: 
  • Acting as a role model for students by encouraging them to take pride in all aspects of their schooling and their cultural identity.
  • Promoting a sense of welcome and belonging, so that all in the school community will gain greater respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders’ culture and each child will be provided with educational opportunities that are rich, fulfilling and promote a lov…
