Expression of Interest Acting Assistant Principal Teaching and Learning

The Opportunity

Tenison Woods Catholic School is seeking an Acting Assistant Principal (POR 4) throughout Term 3.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Principal: Teaching & Learning (AP:T&L) is the school’s lead instructional leader, responsible for the co-design, implementation and evaluation of high-quality teaching and learning practices across the school.

Working under the direction of the Principal, the AP:T&L focuses on:

• Coordinating the TRT allocations
• Supporting the Principal with the daily operations of the school
• Ensuring there is proactive and ongoing support for Inclusive Practices and Pedagogies
• Improving the quality and consistency of teaching practice
• Strengthening student learning outcomes
• Building teacher capability through coaching, modelling and professional learning
• Overseeing curriculum, assessment and intervention practices

Broad Purpose

The Assistant Principal: Teaching & Learning works in partnership with the Principal and school leaders to:

• Lead the support and provisions of Inclusive Education for all students
• Lead the implementation of evidence informed teaching and learning practices
• Develop consistent, school wide approaches to literacy, numeracy and wellbeing

• Commitment to the Catholic ethos and identity of the school
• Demonstrated expertise in Inclusion Practices, Teaching, Learning and Pedagogy
• Ability to lead and influence teaching practice through coaching and collaboration
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated capacity to support the daily operations of the school
