Role description


Financial Planning and Resourcing are seeking to establish a pool of Principal Financial Analysts for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2026 and up to the end of December 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Education Business Services (EBS) delivers professional business services and operational support to Western Australian public schools, statutory boards and Departmental divisions across finance, information and communication technologies, and infrastructure. EBS is committed to delivering responsive, flexible, transparent and customer-focused services that support high-quality education outcomes through continuous improvement of systems, processes and organisational capability.

The Budget Management and Analysis Branch, within the Financial Planning and Resourcing Directorate, is responsible for corporate budget management, financial reporting, cash management and budget advice across central and regional operations. The Branch also oversees full time equivalent (FTE) reporting and supports capital works budget reporting, ensuring effective financial planning, accountability and informed decision-making across the Department.

The Role

Suitable applicants will ideally be experienced finance and budget management professionals with expertise in reviewing and managing departmental budgets, forward estimates, staffing FTE and employee-related expenditure within complex public sector environments.
