Role description

We are seeking to establish a pool of Aboriginal and Islander Education Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Broome Primary School actively promotes a culture that strives to maintain positive and respectful relationships with students, parents and the wider community. Programs delivered by staff are also aimed to promote student self-esteem, well-being and the teaching of sound core values. The four expectations of Care, Respect, Pride and Success form the cornerstone of the school's values and are evident in the teaching and learning programs throughout the school.

Broome is located on the shores of Roebuck Bay in the Kimberley region of Australia. It is 2200kms away from Perth, the capital city of Western Australia. Broome has an interesting history based around the exploits of the men and women who developed the pearling industry in the 1880s. This history has created a population that is a unique blend of Asian, European and Indigenous cultures. Broome is rich in Aboriginal culture and is the traditional home of the Yawuru and Djugun people.
