Primary Teacher

St Joseph's School has an opportunity for a teaching position working within the Primary Years of schooling at St Joseph’s School in 2026. This is a full-time (negotiable), contracted position until December 2026. Flexible arrnagements can be discussed on application.

The Teacher will:

Be experienced in teaching Primary Years.

The successful applicant will possess:

• An understanding and commitment to the ethos (values) of Catholic schools. 
• Apply curriculum knowledge and pedagogies to facilitate learning using the ACARA framework and Primary philosophies.
• Prepare and submit assessment plans according to the ACARA guidelines.
• Address individual student learning needs, integrated curriculum and personalised learning specific to Primary pedagogies.
• Understanding and knowledge of InitiaLit, Spelling Mastery, Writing Revolution, use of or willingness to teach using, Explicit Instruction and restorative practices.
• Understanding of trauma-sensitive practices and restorative practices.
• Support the ongoing development and maintenance of our learning management and reporting system (SEQTA).
• Be familiar with emerging technologies and have a strong interest in their incorporation into the curriculum.
• Ability to work independently, use initiative and develop innovative programs within a school context.
• Excellent collaboration skills and demonstrated practical skills in working in partnership and in a team.
