Location Profile
Yarraville Special Developmental School (YSDS) is a small, vibrant school with a strong emphasis on building and maintaining positive relationships with families and the wider community. We currently support 100 students aged between 5 and 18 years, all with a diagnosis of moderate to severe intellectual disability.
At YSDS, students are at the centre of everything we do. We are committed to providing a safe, stimulating, and flexible learning environment that values the individuality and ability of each student, empowering them to flourish and succeed.
Our dedicated teachers, education support staff, and allied health team work collaboratively to create rich learning experiences that foster growth, independence, and wellbeing. Guided by our school vision 'Excellence in Learning' we strive to provide a strong foundation for continued learning, supporting every student to grow into a safe, respectful, and responsible citizen.
Selection Criteria
SC1 Demonstrated experience in managing the health needs of children with complex medical conditions, including development and implementation of individual health care plans.
SC2 Demonstrated ability to respond effectively to medical incidents and provide timely, evidence-based care in a school or community setting.
SC3 Demonstrated capacity to supervise the work of other support staff and to develop procedures and guidelines relating to the work area.
SC4 Demonstrate a high level oral and written communication
SC5 Demonstrated commitment to professional learning and growth in both self and others.
