Selection Criteria

SC1 Demonstrated knowledge and experience in assessing and supporting students with speech, language and communication needs within educational settings.

SC2 Demonstrated capacity to develop and implement evidence-based intervention strategies that improve student learning, engagement and participation.

SC3 Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, families, allied health professionals and external agencies.

SC4 Demonstrated understanding of inclusive education practices, disability inclusion and student wellbeing frameworks within Victorian schools.

SC5 Demonstrated organisational skills, including the ability to manage caseloads, maintain records and contribute effectively to multidisciplinary teams.

Role

The School-Based Speech Therapist works collaboratively with students, families, teachers and allied health professionals to support students with speech, language, communication and social communication needs. The role focuses on improving student engagement, learning access, literacy development, wellbeing and participation across the school environment.

The Speech Therapist provides assessment, intervention, consultation and capacity-building support to enhance inclusive education practices and improve outcomes for students requiring communication support.

Reports to Associate Principal - Support Services.
