Role description


We are seeking to establish a pool of Deputy Principals for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2028. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

At Picton Primary School (PS) we focus on the development of each child by providing them with opportunities to strive to achieve their potential in a caring, supportive, and safe environment.

The Role

The Deputy Principal will lead curriculum innovation across Kindergarten to Year 6 and will ideally possess a strong ability to distribute curriculum leadership amongst teams of staff. They will support teachers to embed a shared and consistent pedagogy aligned to Explicit Direct Instruction and Teach for Impact.

It is preferred that applicants have knowledge and experience in:

  • Positive Behaviour Support, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
  • Support of Students at Educational Risk (SAER) including Case Management and Special Education Needs (SEN)
  • Trauma Informed Practice
  • Leading whole school approaches
