Sarah Redfern High School is a co-educational, comprehensive secondary school located in Minto in south-west Sydney that serves a diverse community with a wide range of families from different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. The school enrolls approximately 680 students, with 65% from a language background other than English and 10% identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The school maintains strong connections to the local Aboriginal community and the Dharawal people, and fosters an inclusive learning environment that supports both academically gifted students and those requiring learning support, including a dedicated Support Unit for students with mild and moderate intellectual disabilities and autism diagnoses. Position Information
The NSW Department of Education provides, funds and regulates education services for NSW students from early childhood to secondary school, delivering world-class education through its public schools and providing funding support to non-government schools. We employ, develop and support teachers, leaders and other staff to deliver the best outcomes for students and to advance the wellbeing of Aboriginal people.
School Learning Support Officers provides support for students with identified diverse learning needs including disability in classrooms and other learning environments under the direction and supervision of a teacher to support the achievement of educational outcomes.
