Role description
This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2026
East Waikiki Primary School (PS) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Education teacher to join our dynamic team. Located in the coastal suburb of Cooloongup, approximately 45km south of Perth, our school is proudly part of the vibrant Rockingham community. Since opening in 1987 with 185 students, East Waikiki PS has grown into a well-established school with approximately 385 students and a stable, experienced staff committed to high quality teaching and learning.
Staff work within a connected whole-school approach using evidence-based programs, explicit teaching practices, consistent lesson design, and regular assessment to monitor student progress. Our school implements a range of high-impact literacy and numeracy programs including structured synthetic phonics, Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) assessment, Talk for Writing, Letters and Sounds, whole-school spelling and reading routines, and evidence-based numeracy practices. Data is used regularly to inform planning, identify student needs, and provide targeted intervention and extension.
Professional learning, coaching, and collaborative planning are highly valued, with staff engaging in ongoing development to strengthen student outcomes and build a culture of reflective practice, high expectations, and continuous improvement.
