Position Details
St Mary MacKillop College is committed to providing quality K-12 Catholic education in the South West region. We are a supportive, caring community with modern facilities designed to engage students and bring learning to life.
Reporting to the Head of Secondary, the Head of Learning Area – HASS (7-12) is an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced and highly motivated teacher to lead our dedicated HASS department in delivering exceptional outcomes for our students across Years 7 - 12.
As Head of Learning Area, you will:
• Provide strong leadership to a team of passionate HASS teachers.
• Support and coach staff to build capacity through sharing best practice teaching strategies.
• Oversee curriculum planning and assessment.
• Analyse student data to inform improvement strategies and drive achievement.
• Champion a culture of creativity, critical thinking and success.
The successful applicant will have:
• A strong commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education and a willingness to promote and support Catholic values as a member of the St Mary MacKillop College Community.
• Current and full registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA).
• The ability to teach Year 7 – 12, ATAR Geography would be advantageous.
• Demonstrated success in a curriculum leadership or complimentary middle leadership position.
• Deep curriculum knowledge, strong leadership capabilities and a commitment to fostering a love of history, geography, economics and politics.
