Role description
Amata Anangu School is a small remote school located on Anangu country in the north-west corner of South Australia, surrounded by the Musgrave Ranges and approximately 2 hours from Uluru. Our school thrives with teachers and Anangu Educators working side by side to deliver bilingual and culturally responsive learning programs. Staff work closely together to deliver contextualised learning experiences that are strongly connected to community, culture and student engagement.
The Kitchen Officer plays an important role in supporting student health, wellbeing and engagement through the preparation and coordination of nutritious daily meals and food programs. This role works closely with school staff, Anangu educators, community members and external providers to ensure safe food handling practices and the smooth operation of the school kitchen while contributing positively to the broader life of the school through large scale community events, supporting excursions and bush trips and assisting with programs that enhance student engagement and wellbeing.
In addition to the salary, the following financial incentives may apply:
Locality Allowance $10,000 pa (approx)
Fully Subsidised Accommodation including all utilities (accommodation may be shared)
Payment of Removal and relocation costs
Travel and accomodation costs for medical and dental treatment
To ensure employer compliance of duty of care responsibilities given the unique environment of the APY Lands, a wellness check will be conducted for any applicant nominated for this position and prior to any offer of employment.
