Role description
About the role
We are seeking an experienced, passionate and rigorous Learning Support Assistant (LSA) who is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children. Previous experience supporting Foundation students and teachers is an advantage.
Working with the Student Engagement and Wellbeing Team and the Deputy Principal – Learning and Teaching, the LSA will collaborate with teachers, students, and families to ensure every learner – particularly those with additional needs – feels included, supported, and empowered to reach their potential.
At St Marianne Cope, LSAs play an integral role in supporting students’ learning, wellbeing, behaviour, and social development within a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework. Our approach is deeply aligned with the MACS Vision for Engagement, fostering a learning community where every child is known, valued, and actively engaged.
Position: Part-time – 5 days per week, 8:30am – 3:15pm
Commencement: Monday, July 13th, 2026

Key Responsibilities
- Provide small-group and individual support to students with diverse learning, behavioural, and social-emotional needs.
- Assist teachers in implementing suitable learning adjustments and behaviour support strategies aligned with the MTSS framework.
- Build positive, trusting, and respectful relationships with students that foster belonging and engagement.
- Support teachers, families, and specialists to promote students’ holistic growth – academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
