Head of Finance

Fixed-Term Contract June – November 2026

We are seeking a technically proficient and values-driven Head of Finance to lead our finance and payroll operations. This is a pivotal leadership position responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of the College, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, and mentoring a dedicated finance team.  This is a fixed-term contract commencing in June 2026 through to November 2026.

The successful candidate will be a “hands-on” leader who balances high-level statutory reporting with the day-to-day nuances of school operations, from tuition fee collection to facility hire quotes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee monthly management accounts, statutory statements, external audits, and tax obligations (BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax).
• Operations & Revenue: Manage end-to-end payroll, creditors, fixed assets, and student tuition billing/debt collection.
• Strategic Planning: Support the Business Manager with annual budgeting, forecasting, and facility hire quotes.
• Leadership & Governance: Lead and mentor a small finance team while maintaining robust internal controls and policies.

About You:

• Active qualification with a recognized Accounting Body (CA/CPA).
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or Senior Finance Manager.
• Background in the Education Sector is strongly preferred, though not essential.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Word; experience leading end-to-end finance operations.
