Role description


We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistants - Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Established in 1960, East Hamilton Hill Primary School (PS) is located in the suburb of Hamilton Hill, 5 kilometres south-east of the port of Fremantle, and caters for students from Kindergarten through to Year 6. East Hamilton Hill PS maintains a high level of autonomy with the capacity to make decisions centred around meeting the needs of the community we serve to consistently progress and nurture the learning and development trajectories of each and every student.

The Role

As an Education Assistant - Special Needs you will, under teacher direction, assist in the implementation of specialised education programs. Experience in working with students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), mental health and challenging behaviours is highly desirable. As a member of our team, you should be friendly, approachable, flexible, and have a genuine interest in supporting students with educational needs, and pastoral care support. Also, when required, suitable applicants will provide feedback on education and therapy programs and participates in the evaluation process relating to the achievement of goals in special education.
