Role description
We are seeking to establish a pool of Deputy Principals for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
The School of Special Educational Needs: Behaviour and Engagement (SSEN:BE) provides educational support and services with schools, for students with extreme, complex, and challenging behaviours across a K-12 context. SSEN:BE is part of the network of specialist schools that operates under Statewide Services (SWS).
SSEN:BE staff provide individualised support for schools and young people that can take the form of, consultative, direct, indirect and/or professional learning support as befits the needs of the school or student referred to our service.

The Role
The SSEN:BE Deputy Principal role requires leadership that is responsive, consultative, and outcomes driven for the benefit of students and schools. You should be committed to expanding your own Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander cultural knowledge and able to lead staff to build their individual capability in delivering culturally responsive practices. Your decision making should always be centred on meeting the needs of K-12 schools and students, with an ability to clearly articulate support strategies that lead to expected, positive and measurable outcomes.
