Chatham High School is a large comprehensive high school serving the town of Taree and adjacent rural and coastal areas with an enrolment of approximately 550 students. Approximately 49% of the student population is of Aboriginal descent, and the school maintains a close connection to its local community through diverse cultural programs. The school offers a broad academic and vocational curriculum supported by programs including CHACE (a Curriculum Extension program), a Talented Athlete Program in stage 5, and a well-resourced Senior Support Centre for stage 6 students. Position Information
The NSW Department of Education provides, funds and regulates education services for NSW students from early childhood to secondary school, delivering world-class education through its public schools and providing funding support to non-government schools. We employ, develop and support teachers, leaders and other staff to deliver the best outcomes for students and to advance the wellbeing of Aboriginal people.
School Learning Support Officers provides support for students with identified diverse learning needs including disability in classrooms and other learning environments under the direction and supervision of a teacher to support the achievement of educational outcomes.
