Role description

Location: St Benedict's Catholic College, Oran Park

A permanent full time position, commencing date is open to negotiation. The successful applicant will be required to teach Science (Stage 6 desirable).

The role of Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
  • Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
  • Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
  • Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in Science.
  • Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
  • Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers and the wider school community.

DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Qualifications to teach Stage 6 Science.

GENERAL CAPABILITIES

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Appropriate qualifications for teaching nominated Key Learning Area (s).
  • Level B Accreditation in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain level within the first 5 years of employment  with CEDoW.
  • The applicant must be registered to teach with NESA.
