Role description

Kerry Street Community School is a small independent primary school built around inclusion, authentic learning, student voice, and strong community relationships.

 

We are seeking a capable and values-aligned School Finance Manager to support the financial health and sustainability of our community.

 

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys meaningful work, strong systems, problem-solving, and being part of a collaborative and purpose-driven environment.

 

About the Role

This is a permanent part-time position (0.4 FTE / approximately 2 days per week).

 

Days of work will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

 

Salary will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications, with an indicative full-time equivalent range of $80,000 – $95,000 plus superannuation.

 

This is a consolidated finance role that brings together bookkeeping, payroll, compliance, accounts management, and month-end reporting within one accountable position.

 

Reporting directly to the Principal, you will take ownership of Xero and the day-to-day finance function, with the opportunity to lead improvements in systems and processes where appropriate.

 

What the Role Involves

This role supports the financial sustainability and smooth business functioning of the school.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Bookkeeping, payroll, BAS preparation, and finance administration
  • Month-end reporting, reconciliations, and budget monitoring
  • Managing accounts payable, supplier payments, and financial records
  • Managing accounts receivable, payment plans, and debtor follow-up
  • Supporting audit, compliance, insurance, and funding requirements
