Key Responsibilities

The Senior Education Officer - EAL/D is accountable for:

  • Embedding the EAL/D Learning Progression to support consistent assessment, monitoring and instructional planning for EAL/D students
  • Engaging with Student Support stakeholders and evidence-based research to advise on effective delivery models for newly enrolled EAL/D students
  • Designing, delivering and evaluating professional learning and curriculum initiatives, in collaboration with internal leaders and external partners, to build teacher expertise and middle leadership capability in Tier 1 universal supports, aligned with CSPD strategy
  • Working with instructional coaches and school-based personnel to support the implementation of Tier 1, 2 and 3 approaches that strengthen English language and literacy outcomes for EAL/D students
