Role description

MacKillop Catholic College is a Catholic Secondary College on Hobart’s Eastern Shore. As a Math/Science Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality education to our Year 7-10 students.

Position details:

Commencement: 28 July 2026 (Term 3)

Full time (1.0 FTE).
While the role is advertised as ongoing, the College will consider a range of appointment options, including part‑time, fixed‑term, or shared allocations across Mathematics and Science, based on skills, experience, and timetabling.

  • Developing and delivering engaging Mathematics lessons aligned with the curriculum
  • Assessing and providing feedback to students to support their academic progress
  • Maintaining accurate student records and data
  • Contribute to curriculum development, bringing fresh ideas, contemporary teaching approaches, and a commitment to high-quality learning outcomes.
  • Ensure every student reaches their full potential through high-quality, collaborative, and engaging pedagogy.
  • Actively participating in professional development to stay up-to-date with educational best practices
  • Supporting the broader pastoral care and extracurricular activities of the college

About you:

The ideal candidate will:

  • have a relevant teaching qualification with current registration in Tasmania.
  • possess strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum
  • demonstrate excellent communication, relationship‑building, and classroom management skills.
