Role description

HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION (OUTDOOR) TEACHER

Position Details
Mater Dei College has the opportunity for a full-time, temporary Health and Physical Education (Outdoor Education) Teacher to become an integral part of the College’s Health and PE Department, commencing 1 Semester 2, 20th July as a leave cover until the end of Semester 1 2027.  as a leave cover.

The Health and Physical Teacher will be responsible for a variety of tasks within the HPE Learning Area that are inclusive of, but not limited to:

•  Implementing effective teaching strategies to engage and challenge students of varying abilities to achieve specific learning outcomes. 
•  Fostering a stimulating, encouraging and inclusive classroom environment designed to support student growth. 
•  Deliver a comprehensive Outdoor Education program that includes practical activities, while teaching safety, risk management, environmental awareness, and fostering student teamwork, leadership and participation. 
•  Planning and programming for classes within the Health and Physical Education Learning Area to promote learning and involvement. 
•  Assessing the performance of students in accordance with College procedures and where required, maintaining contact with parents regarding the performance and wellbeing of students. 
•  Meeting the deadlines set by the Head of Learning Area and College Executive.
