Primary objective
Deliver competency-based Training and Assessment programs based on nationally accredited Vocational Education and Training (VET) packages to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander secondary school at Maningrida College. Work as part of the secondary team to innovate and engage students to improve completion outcomes primarily in Certificate 1 Maritime (Coxswains grade 2 near coastal)
Context statement
Maningrida College is located in one of the largest Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory, 550 km east of Darwin, delivering education to approximately 660 students from preschool to senior years and provides education services to up to 15 Homeland Learning Centres. The College incorporates a Family and Children Centre, Families as First Teachers program, Trade Training Centre, Learning on Country Program and Indigenous Languages and Culture Team.
