Role description

St Patrick’s School is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Education Support Officers – Curriculum (ESO) to join our vibrant R–6 learning community. ESOs at St Patrick’s play an essential role in supporting teachers and enhancing the learning experience of students with diverse educational needs.

This is a contract position, working 27.5 hours per week between Monday to Friday, 8.45am – 3.00pm.

 

About the Role

As an ESO – Curriculum at St Patrick’s, you will:

  • Support students individually and in small groups to enhance their learning under the direction of the classroom teacher.
  • Assist with the implementation of structured learning programs using pre‑prepared resources.
  • Provide supervision and support for students with identified additional needs, aligned with their Personalised Plans for Learning (PPL).
  • Monitor student progress and communicate observations to teachers regarding learning or behavioural needs.
  • Assist teachers with supervision during excursions, sports events, school activities, and yard duty as required.
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with students, families, and the wider St Patrick’s community.
  • Support students with additional needs, including personal care, where required.
  • Contribute to general classroom operations, including preparation of learning materials and administrative tasks.

 

About You

  • A Certificate III in Education Support (or equivalent), and/or relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to support students across literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum areas.
