Position Information

Fort Street Public School(K-6), established in 1842 as the Model School for exemplary education, is an inner-city school in Sydney's historic Rocks area, with a student enrolment of 280 students, 83% from a Language Background Other Than English. Fort Street PS has a strong focus on Explicit Teaching, differentiated learning and the provision of a range of extracurricular opportunities delivered in a nurturing and inclusive environment. The school is proud of its cultural diversity and its focus on the core values of Resilience, Gratitude, Compassion and Excellence. The school is supported by an engaged and involved P&C Association as well as broader community support. This position will involve a professional commitment to collaborative teaching, planning and practices with Stage teachers. The new school provides world class, future focused facilities, including a two-level library. This is a 0.6 position.


Selection Criteria

Approval to teach K to 6 and Library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education, with a commitment to delivering engaging library and information literacy programs, that foster a love of reading. 

Demonstrated experience supporting curriculum delivery across K–6, including whole-school events, with highly developed communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

The ability to effectively manage library resources and digital technologies.


Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

 

 


Special Notes

This is a permanent part-time position of 3 per week, 0.6FTE (full time equivalent).
