Role description

HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES TEACHER

Position Details

Mater Dei College has the opportunity for a full-time, temporary Humanities and Social Sciences Teacher (Business) to become an integral part of the College’s HASS Department, commencing Semester 2, 20th July 2026 as a leave cover until 31st December 2027.

We are seeking a vibrant, passionate, and confident individual who is committed to helping our students reach their full potential.

The Humanities and Social Sciences Teacher will be responsible for a variety of tasks within the HASS Learning Area that are inclusive of, but not limited to:
• Implementing effective teaching strategies to engage and challenge students of varying abilities to achieve specific learning outcomes.
• Fostering a stimulating, encouraging and inclusive classroom environment designed to support student growth.
• Deliver engaging HASS and Business curriculum, guiding students through small business development while teaching key concepts such as innovation, planning, viability, and legal and ethical consideration.
• Planning and programming for classes within the HASS Learning Area to promote learning and involvement.
• Assessing the performance of students in accordance with College procedures and where required, maintaining contact with parents regarding the performance and wellbeing of students.
• Meeting the deadlines set by the Head of Learning Area and College Executive.
