Location Profile
Education has a long history on the Mickleham Primary School site, with the first school opening in 1865 in our beautiful blue-stone building. Though we are now in the fastest growth corridor in Melbourne, our well-established trees help maintain the country feel that the school is renowned for. We recently moved into our new learning buildings and over the next 12 months our major building project will enter the final phase, with the construction of a large oval, two playgrounds and a sandpit. Our community values the beauty of our environment and importance of educating our children to embrace the natural world and promote conservation on our site and beyond.
Our enrolment has steadily increased and will continue to fluctuate as new schools open in the wider neighbourhood. We currently have just under 300 proud Mickleham PS students who reflect our R.I.C.H. school values ¿ Respect, Independence, Cooperation, and Honesty. Our students experience a well-balanced education through specialist classes in Physical Education, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics), Library and The Arts (Visual & Performing Arts/Drama). We have introduced AUSLAN as our Language Other Than English. We will be integrating AUSLAN into our daily classroom routines, practices and Inquiry topics.
