Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated general administrative competency, including knowledge, experience or the capacity to learn relevant computer software
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and high level interpersonal skills, including a capacity to develop constructive relationships with students, parents and other staff
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to and work in a team environment, including the ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality

Role
The Secondary Teacher Assistant (STA) will perform a number of duties in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice and school policy. The STA will be based in one of the College¿s four Houses and will be linked to a Leading Teacher who will supervise and monitor their work.
The Secondary Teacher Assistant is required to:
- provide friendly and helpful assistance to students, parents and staff
- prioritise and manage work demands
- communicate effectively with a range of people
- work as part of the house team to ensure tasks are completed in a timely and professional manner
- provide specialized knowledge that is relied upon to deliver services to the work area
Responsibilities
Student Attendance:
- Checking homegroup rolls daily to ensure they are maintained correctly.
- Maintaining student attendance database
- Contacting parents to ascertain whether a student absence is approved.
- Preparing reports for Homegroup teachers and House coordinators to facilitate the follow-up of student absences.
