Selection Criteria
- SC1: Curriculum Knowledge & Planning: Proven ability to develop and implement a comprehensive Primary Visual Arts curriculum, aligned with state standards (e.g., Victorian Curriculum), that fosters skill development across various art mediums (painting, sculpture, digital, etc.).
- SC2: Pedagogical Expertise & Engagement: Demonstrated ability to implement high-impact teaching strategies that engage diverse learners, accommodate different learning styles, and foster a passion for creativity.
- SC3: Assessment & Reporting: Experience in monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and using assessment data to inform future teaching strategies and enhance learning growth.
- SC4: Classroom Management & Safety: Sound experience in managing student behavior in a specialised, practical environment, including a strong commitment to child safety standards and OH&S protocols (e.g., handling art materials safely).
- SC5: School Community Engagement: Demonstrated skills in communicating and collaborating with staff, parents, and the broader community, including showcasing student art through school exhibitions.
Role
The classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges- range 1 and range 2. The primary focus of the classroom teacher is on the planning, preparation and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes. The classroom teacher engages in critical reflection and inquiry in order to improve knowledge and skills to effectively engage students and improve their learning.
