Role description

Location Profile

We are seeking a person with experience and understanding in working with children with additional learning needs, eg autism and attention-deficit /hyperactivity disorder, OR a person who is interested in learning how to do this successfully. The successful applicant will be provided with professional development to support them to work with children with additional needs. 

The hours span across 5 days a week Monday to Friday

The position will suit a person who is:

- open-minded and flexible in their thinking

- able to take teacher direction and make suitable adjustments to support the student in their communication and learning

- able to physically interact with students, eg play outdoor games

Yarraville West Primary School is a large primary school in the quiet residential suburb of Yarraville, about 8km from the Melbourne CBD.  YWPS has served the schooling needs of the community for over 130 years.  Our grounds include play spaces for junior, middle, and senior students, shady verandahs for making and chilling, a wooden maze, and sensory garden.  The Yarraville Oval is adjacent to the school and provides a beautiful open space for learning and play.
