Position Information
The Itinerant Support Teacher – Vision (ISTV) provides support in making the curriculum accessible to students with confirmed vision disabilities in preschools, primary schools, high schools, schools for specific purposes and support classes within the Northern Rivers region of NSW.ISTVs work in a multi-disciplinary team with students, their teachers, parents and carers, school learning and support teams and other professionals.They conduct student assessments, participate in review meetings, support school staff in making teaching and learning adjustments, provide professional learning for school staff, explicitly teach relevant areas of the expanded core curriculum such as self-advocacy, independent living skills and safe movement techniques, and commit to relevant ongoing professional learning to develop and maintain expertise in this sp…
