Role description

Secondary Drama Teacher – Full Time 18 month Contract (permanency considered)

St James Lutheran College is more than just a school, it’s a thriving learning community in the heart of Hervey Bay. We provide high-quality, innovative education from Kindergarten to Year 12, where curiosity is sparked, relationships are valued, and every child is known and cared for.

We are seeking a passionate and relational Secondary Drama Teacher (with the ability to teach a second core subject area) to join our dynamic team from Term 3 2026. Additional leadership opportunities within the Arts Department are also possible, with permanency and ongoing employment considered for the right candidate matching long term college needs.

As a valued member of St James, you will:

  • Be part of a supportive Learning & Teaching team that work collaboratively to nurture each child’s potential.
  • Enjoy the benefits of strong collegial support from the Heads of School and collaborative staff networks.
  • Contribute to an innovative learning culture that balances academic excellence with wellbeing, faith, and community.

Why St James?
What sets us apart is our genuine sense of community. Staff, students, and families work in partnership to create an environment where everyone belongs. Our teachers are not only educators but also mentors and role models who make a lasting impact.

We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and graduates who bring energy, creativity, and a heart for students.

Applications close: 9am Monday 25th May 2026
Commencement date: Term 3 (18 month contract).
