Role description

Position Details
We are seeking a motivated and highly skilled Head of Psychological Services to join lead our psychology and counselling team. This is a full time, ongoing position, with a start date to be agreed. Reporting to the Vice Principal, the Head of Psychological Services works in close partnership with the Assistant Deputy Principals, providing specialist psychological expertise, professional advice and evidence informed guidance to support their leadership of student pastoral care and wellbeing across the College.

Selection Criteria
Your responsibilities will include:
Counselling
• Provide high quality psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions for students, drawing on contemporary, evidence based practice
• Offer specialist consultation, advice and guidance to Assistant Deputy Principals, staff and parents to support understanding of students’ psychological, emotional, social and learning needs
Wellbeing
• In collaboration with the Vice Principal and Deputy Principal Community, contribute psychological expertise to help lead the design, development, implementation and review of whole school and targeted wellbeing initiatives
Pastoral Care
• Work with the Vice Principal and Assistant Deputy Principals to support the development, delivery and refinement of age appropriate Pastoral Care programs informed by contemporary psychological understanding
General Administration Duties
• Attend and contribute to relevant whole school and wellbeing related meetings
• Support College engagement processes through attendance at parent teacher interviews when require…
