Role description


We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistant - Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

An Education Assistant - Special Needs primary role is to assist teachers with the preparation and delivery of resources and educational programs in order to meet the learning needs of students with disabilities. Being able to encourage these students to reach their Individual Education goals will also form part of this role. The role requires applicants to be flexible and work with students in an individual, small group and mainstream context. An Education Assistant - Special Needs should be able to provide effective feedback to the class teacher, and when required participate in the evaluation process relating to the achievement of a student’s individual goals. In addition, they are also required to have an ability to assist with the general health and wellbeing of students.
