Selection Criteria
SC 1 - Demonstrated experience in the provision of first aid and health support services within a school or similar setting.
SC 2 - Demonstrated capacity to administer medication and manage student health plans in accordance with Department guidelines.
SC 3 - High level organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy environment.
SC 4 - Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to liaise effectively with students, staff and parents.
SC 5 - Demonstrated capacity to work effectively as a member of a team and contribute positively to a school environment.
SC 6 - Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Child Safe Standards and student wellbeing.
Role
The School Nurse/First Aid Manager provides high-level first aid and health support services to students, staff and visitors in accordance with Department of Education policies and school procedures. The role requires the provision of timely, compassionate and professional care, including accurate assessment of illness and injury, implementation of appropriate treatment, and determination of follow-up actions
The position supports the school's commitment to student wellbeing, safety and compliance with Child Safe Standards. The role operates with a degree of autonomy, within established guidelines and works collaboratively within the school's wellbeing and administration teams.
