Role description
St Thomas More School offers an exciting opportunity for someone wanting to work part-time to join our friendly front office team.
- 2 days per week – Monday & Tuesday
- 8.00am – 3.30pm or 8.30am – 4.00pm
- Availability to work additional days as required if possible
- Education Support Officer Grade 3
The Front Office team plays a vital part in creating a warm, organised, and supportive environment for students, families, staff, and visitors. As a key point of communication, this role requires strong customer‑service skills, positive interpersonal communication, and a consistent commitment to the school’s vision, mission, and Mercy values.
This position supports the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the front office by helping manage the flow of people, responding to enquiries, and completing a variety of administrative tasks. A calm, professional approach is essential, particularly during busy periods.
Key responsibilities include reception and front‑desk duties, word processing, data entry, generating reports, maintaining databases, processing parental consents, assisting with school uniform sales, and supporting general administrative needs across the school.
The role also provides important First Aid and general health support to students. This includes assisting with health plans, administering medication in line with school procedures, and ensuring medical records are accurate and up to date.
Experience with Microsoft, CIVICA, SEQTA and past work in schools is desirable. There is a possibility for the role to be extended beyond the end date.
