About the Role

Working as a support teacher in our school offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic, collaborative learning community where every student is known, valued and supported. Staff work closely together across sectors, sharing expertise and building collective capacity to meet diverse learning needs. With a strong focus on literacy, explicit instruction, and evidence-informed practice, support teachers play a key role in shaping meaningful learning outcomes for students while continuing to grow their own professional practice.

To implement and manage appropriate learning programs for students and to assess individual student progress.

The Support Teacher will:

  • Work with teachers and Teacher Assistants to plan and implement inclusive teaching and learning programs using a differentiated curriculum based on relevant curriculum frameworks.
  • Support and promote inclusive education practices by modelling effective teaching strategies for diverse learners, guiding classroom teachers in implementing educational adjustments and programs (including medical action and transition plans), and facilitating access to relevant resources and professional learning opportunities.
  • Source, prepare, and share teaching resources, learning aids, and assistive technologies to support inclusive education practices and student learning.
