Education Assistant - Special Needs

We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistant - Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

As a Special Needs Assistant, you will, under limited supervision and guidance from the classroom teacher, perform tasks that require discretion and judgement to assist students in achieving their full potential.

Special Needs Education Assistants are timetabled to support not only students with disabilities, but those requiring academic and social support. Suitable applicants should therefore possess well developed communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with teachers and outside agencies to develop, implement, review and provide feedback on Teaching and Learning Adjustments.  Apllicants who have a positive attitude and the ability to anticipate and adapt to change, showing initiative and flexibility to produce the best opportunities for students will be highly regarded.
