Role description


This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2026

Goollelal Primary School (PS) is seeking an innovative, knowledgeable and committed Associate Principal to join our leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader with the personal qualities and professional expertise to work collaboratively, inspire others, and help drive whole-school improvement aligned with our current Business Plan.

As a key member of the leadership team, you would play a pivotal role in enhancing workforce effectiveness by building strong, trusting relationships with staff, students, and our highly engaged parent community. Exceptional interpersonal skills are highly desirable, along with the ability to communicate with clarity, empathy and professionalism.

The Role

The successful applicant will ideally:

  • Display a deep understanding of current research and evidence-based practice, particularly in explicit instruction balanced with experiential learning, to guide high-quality teaching and learning across the school.
  • Lead and support whole-school initiatives that positively impact student outcomes, with a strong focus on English and Mathematics.
  • Build and sustain collaborative, high-performing teams, ensuring consistency in planning, teaching and assessment practices across the school.
  • Facilitate professional learning, using student data analysis to inform planning, refine teaching strategies and drive continuous improvement.
