Role

Role:

The Food Technology Support person will undertake a variety of duties, as required by the Food Technology teachers.  The position will involve giving basic technical advice and classroom support to the College's Food Technology program in a range of areas.

Responsibilities

The duties of a Food Technology Assistant may include but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Timely preparation of food and equipment set up for practical classes.
  • Assist with cooking classes as required by the teacher.
  • Cleaning of kitchen area including benches, floor, ovens, fridge, pantry and laundry areas.
  • Organise and maintain pantry, fridge and freezer.
  • Purchase ingredients for all practical classes as directed by the teacher. 
  • Maintain an inventory of equipment and make sure they are clean and ready to use.
  • Check stock against use by dates and requirements.
