Location Profile

Wodonga South Primary School is integrated with Southern Rise Children's Centre and the site is known as Southern Rise Education Centre.  The enrolment for 2023 is currently  477 students.  The school has 19 class groupings operating as straight classes, which includes; 2 x Foundation classes, 5 x 1/2s, 5 x Year 3/4s, and 6 x Year 5/6s.  Classroom programs were supported by specialist teachers in the subject areas of Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Auslan and Physical Education.

The school has a strong relationship with the Southern Rise Children's Centre which includes a Maternal and Child Health Program, Long Day Care, Play groups and 3 and 4 year old Preschool Programs.  Communication and transition between the Preschool and the school is strong and well supported.

There is a strong focus on inclusion and differentiation for all students and the school has an established School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SW-PBS) program.  These focus areas work well together and give strong guidance to the whole school community about expectations and beliefs.

The school utilises a comprehensive computer network linking all teaching areas and the outside world via the internet.  Staff and student capabilities have significantly improved in recent years as learning technologies have been increasingly incorporated into classroom programs.

We have a continued focus on improvement in all areas of achievement, engagement and wellbeing with the understanding that each is important for development of the whole child.
