Role description
Selection Criteria
SC1. Demonstrated experience in grounds and facilities maintenance
Demonstrated experience in maintaining school grounds, gardens, buildings and external areas, including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, irrigation, rubbish removal, minor repairs and general upkeep to ensure a safe and well-presented environment.
SC2. Demonstrated technical skills and ability to perform maintenance works
Demonstrated ability to undertake routine building and maintenance tasks including minor carpentry, painting, furniture repairs, basic plumbing tasks, equipment maintenance and general handyman duties, with the capacity to identify and respond to maintenance issues proactively.
SC3. Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements
Demonstrated understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), risk management and safe work practices, including the safe use and storage of tools, machinery, chemicals and equipment, particularly within a school environment where students and staff are present.
SC4. Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks
Demonstrated capacity to effectively manage competing maintenance and grounds priorities, respond to urgent repair requests, coordinate routine and seasonal works, and maintain accurate records of completed tasks and contractor works where required.
SC5. Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with school leadership, staff, contractors and external service providers, while maintaining positive and professional relationships acr…
