Role description

Selection Criteria

  1. High level interpersonal and communication skills.
     

  2. Highly developed ability to assume overall responsibility for the operation of the camps program, including the implementation of DEECD & locally developed policies and programs, incorporating effective organisational and management skills.
     

  3. A demonstrated ability to assume a leadership role and to provide expert support to staff and students in the running of outdoor education camp activities.
     

  4. Demonstrated skills in general maintenance/repairs and efficient resource management.

Role

The Camp Manager is responsible for the implementation and promotion of the camps program and policies within the college community. They are required to develop and implement a comprehensive management program that ensures all facilities, fittings and grounds are well maintained and compliant with all accreditation and safety requirements.  This will require liaising with staff at school regarding camp planning and scheduling, skills in basic repairs and maintenance, as well as an ability to liaise with external contractors.

The Camp Coordinator will be expected to lead designated outdoor education activities such as still water rafting/canoeing and bushwalking. He/she will report directly to the Assistant Principal on relevant issues.
