Location Profile
Rubicon Outdoor School is a specific purpose outdoor state school working with government secondary students. Rubicon comprises two campuses: Thornton Campus is located in the picturesque Rubicon Valley approximately 100 km north-east of Melbourne, on the edge of the Great Dividing Range. The Nayook Campus, located near Neerim Junction at the foot of Mt Baw Baw, is approximately 100 km east of Melbourne in a bush setting. The school has a long history of excellence in teaching and learning in the outdoors. The values of Sustainable Futures, Shaped by Challenge, Building Community , and Meaningful Experiences underpin the core work of our school. This position is located at our Nayook Campus.
Rubicon provides teaching and learning programs within both residential, basecamp and journey based spaces and a history of consistent innovation and improvement in Outdoor and Learning Away practices. Students attend for approximately five days and live either; onsite as part of a residential program or with their group in the context of an expedition or basecamp program.
Selection Criteria
SC1 Capacity to undertake routine support tasks across a range of functions in one or more work areas within a school environment.
SC2 Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively with members of the school community including students
SC3 Demonstrated proficiency in the use of office systems, software or technical equipment as relevant to the position. Cases21 experience preferred.
