Role description
Selection Criteria
KSC 1: Demonstrated highly developed counselling and therapeutic skills when working with secondary¿aged students.
KSC 2: Demonstrated knowledge of trauma¿informed practice, together with a sound understanding of child and adolescent development, applied effectively to assessment, early intervention and ongoing student wellbeing support.
KSC 3: Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships.
KSC 4: Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of wellbeing programs that foster resilience and address the social, emotional and educational needs of children and young people, including whole¿school and targeted group initiatives.
KSC 5: Demonstrated ability to design and deliver professional learning, consultation and resources on wellbeing and mental health topics for staff, students, parents and the broader school community.
Role
Working as part of the Wellbeing Team and the broader Student Services Team, the Social Worker focuses primarily on mental health promotion, prevention and early intervention across the school community. The role supports student wellbeing through Tier 1 whole¿school initiatives, Tier 2 targeted group programs and short¿term early intervention for individual students with mild to moderate mental health concerns.
